The Greatest Titan -- Jack Sikma (Class of '77)
Sikma led Illinois Wesleyan to College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin basketball championships in 1975,1976 and 1977 before being drafted in the first round by the NBA's Seattle SuperSonics. The 6-foot-11 center is IWU's career scoring (2,272 points) and rebounding (1,405) leader.
Sikma helped Seattle to the 1979 NBA championship -- he had 17 rebounds in each of the last three games of the Finals, which Seattle won 4-1 over the Washington Bullets. Sikma played nine years with the Sonics before being traded to Milwaukee. The seven-time NBA All-Star spent five seasons with the Bucks before retiring in 1991.
In 2003 the Seattle Supersonics hired Sikma as a special assignments coach, designated to work with the team's centers. He is also president of Sikma Enterprises and manages four golf courses in the Seattle area.
